FALI-LAA and ‘Rotten Row,’ are the famous baches at Taylor’s Mistake. Some of these beauties proudly stand despite the threat of being torn down. They all have weathered, waited for changes in climate and conditions, to sit quietly and undisturbed. After a tussle by eager kids, a dog will flop down to snooze, these are the same.

They house holidays and escapes for families and individuals. Colourful, playful and unique they are unaffected by what comes and goes.

Unlike people who have rotten characters, which harms themselves and others, the rotting of these baches slowly over time is graceful and with integrity of their materials and what Mother Nature has in store dissolve into dust.

I walk passed these often. I check on them. Kind of like elders, sitting along the edges of society or a room . They watch and yet have their heyday, no matter their age.

Lot of dignity there.
